JOB LOSS
Up to 60% of victims of intimate partner violence lose their jobs due to reasons stemming from the abuse.

ECONOMIC ABUSE
94-99% of domestic violence survivors have experienced economic abuse, where abusers control or sabotage their financial resources, hindering their employment opportunities.

LOST INCOME
Victims of intimate partner violence lose a total of 8 million days of paid work each year.

EMPLOYMENT GAPS
Many survivors of partner violence have gaps in their employment history due to frequent relocations to escape an abusive partner, court appearances, and medical issues.

WIDE REACH
In South Carolina, 42.3% of women & 29.2% of men experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking in their lifetimes.

LOST PRODUCTIVITY
Domestic abuse can cause employees to be distracted at work, miss work, arrive late or leave early, and increase staff turnover. 54% of employers have reported that domestic abuse caused the quality of the employee’s work to suffer.
